Description
Loch Ard Gorge, Port Campbell, is bathed in the soft hues of sunset. Dominating the scene are Tom & Eva, two towering rock pillars named after the sole survivors of the 1878 Loch Ard shipwreck. The pillars, standing tall and resolute, are silhouetted against the fading light, their rugged surfaces a testament to the passage of time. The gorge, steep and dramatic, frames the pillars, its lush vegetation contrasting with the starkness of the rock. The image is a poignant reminder of the area’s history, the beauty of the scene belying the tragedy that once unfolded here.
