The image captures a breathtaking sunrise at Dragon Head Rock on Rye Back Beach. The tide is at its lowest ebb, revealing the ocean shelf from which water cascades down in a gentle, rhythmic flow. The rock formation, aptly named Dragon Head, stands majestically against the backdrop of the morning sky. The sky is a canvas of vibrant hues, with orange and pink painting a picture of dawn’s arrival.
Mike Launder is a celebrated Australian landscape photographer who has been painting the world through his lens since 2018. A self-taught artist, Mike’s journey began during a trip to New York, where he acquired his first camera.
